B&W Lilly Hand-woven Bakhmal Long Chapan
$1700
One of the rarest, most precious and labour-intensive textiles ever created by hand - Bakhmal has been known as the “royal” silk velvet. Admired for its exceptional beauty, intricate craftsmanship, and timeless value. Each chapan is handcrafted using an ancient technique of resist-dyeing, then woven on an authentic handloom to create an exceptionally soft and luxurious silk pile. It takes between 100 and 130 hours of meticulous handwork to produce enough Bakhmal for a single chapan. The fabric for our garments is woven by master artisans in Uzbekistan, who’ve preserved and passed down this craft through generations.
